How to Pack!

Hi guys! I'm back!
I got a request from one of my good friends who will be traveling soon to do a post on how to pack!
Here are some helpful tips on packing.

Tip 1: Roll-up your clothes!
- shirts, sweaters, pants, shorts, etc.
- simply fold your clothes in half and roll it up!
- then play tetris with your rolls of clothes
- Advantages: saves space & reduces wrinkles
- you can also layer many items on top of one another and roll them together

Tip 2: Shoes in shower caps
- There are a few ways to pack your shoes:

a. Stuff your shoes with socks and place between articles of clothes with soles facing up.
-Advantage: no more squished up shoes

b. place them in shower caps! ( dollar store - 9 for 1$)
- Advantage: no more dirty clothes

c. place in plastic bag

Tip 3: Fragile items goes in the center
-Always put the hard items on the sides and fragile items in the middle
- The heavier items should be closer to the bottom to make the luggage stable.

Tip 4: Ziplock bags
- ziplock bags are the best!
You can use them to organize your small items such as socks, toiletry items, makeup, etc.

- If you're taking shampoo or lotion I suggest:
 1. removing the cap
2. placing a layer of plastic wrap
3. screwing cap back on tightly
4. Placing into a ziplock bag
( this will guarantee a messy proof luggage)

Tip 5: Winter Jackets in Space Saver bags
- invest in some space savers bags ( here are some on amazon.com) especially for bulky winter items
- It will condense the bulky items into a smaller size
- disadvantage: it add a little weight and you need a vacuum

HOW TO: Clean Silver Plated Jewelry

A while back I bought some silver plated bangles that now have this yellowish tint to them.
To clean them I used a trick I learned a way back when from good ole television.
I've done this loads of times and it works like a charm every time.
 It's fast, easy and cheap!

What You'll Need:
It really quite simple, all you need is...
TOOTHPASTE!
(I used colgate whitening)

Directions:
1. Grab your dull/discolored silver

2. Using an old toothbrush (soft bristles), brush on some toothpaste. Make sure you really get into those nooks and crannies.
(If the jewelry is smooth simply rub on the toothpaste)

3. Clean with water.

4. Dry with paper towel.

It will shine like the first time you bought it!
^.^
Enjoy

How to: Organize Stud Earrings

Recently one of my friends requested a post on how I organize my earring collection.

I mostly have stud earrings. I used to store them in tin containers.
The main problem with this form of storage is that I could never find the other earring. It was time consuming and frustrating. >.<

The solution that works for me is foam sheets!

Just organize your studs on it.

Advantages:

·  You can find both pair of earrings
( without a headache)

·  You can see all your options so you're more likely wear all the earrings.
(In the past even though I had a lot of earring, I would just stick to a few favorites)

·  It's great for travel
( put the foam sheet + earrings in a ziplock bag and throw it in your purse)

·  You can organize it further
(I store my earrings on several sheets. I organize the sheets by causal vs. special occasion earrings)

·  The great thing about foam sheets is how accessible and inexpensive it is

(Give it a try! I promise you won't regret it! ^_^)

How to Knot Stretch Cord

What You Will Need:
Elastic Beading Cord
Krazy Glue

Directions:
1. Cross the right and left ends of the elastic cord.

2. Bring right end over and under the left end.

3. Cross again but this time bring the left end over and under the right end.

4. Pull evenly to tighten the knot. Add a drop of Krazy glue. Tighten again and hold for 30 seconds.

5.  Let it dry completely before use. I suggest waiting about 24 hrs.
